Should I wash or paint my siding?

Before considering painting or replacing your siding, a professional wash can often restore its original appearance. Mold, algae and dirt create an aging impression that disappears after soft washing. If your siding is vinyl, washing is always preferable to painting as vinyl is not designed to be painted. For painted aluminum or wood siding, washing can reveal whether the paint is still in good condition or needs repainting.
